This apartment is on the 6th + top floors of a modern, elevator building which faces South (sunny and bright, with excellent breezy ventilation or A/C) and is across the street from a school, so it's quiet at night and in the mornings on weekends!

The Building and Neighborhood: This ELEVATOR building complex has 10 units, mostly 2 bedrooms, and there are 2 apartments on each floor.
2 minute walk to subway (L Train)
1 minute walk to Bus (M15)
10 minute walk to Union Square (every single subway is accessible from)
20-30 minute walk to midtown (Empire State Building, Times Square, Madison Square Garden)
This neighborhood is very lively after the sun goes down. The East Village has been heavily built up over the last 5 years and located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Manhattan. The East Village offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and a beautiful park. You can walk to Indian, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vegetarian and American restaurants within a 5 block radius. If you're too tired and beat up from touring NYC and don't feel like going anywhere, you can simply order room service and have anything delivered to the room (usually until 11 pm or midnight) as there are plenty of menus from all the nearby food establishments. These little privately owned restaurants are MUCH better than midtown/tourist-trap food chain places as well. There are at least three 24/hr places to get food within 2 blocks and about 50 restaurant/bars/cafes and shopping within a 3 block radius and probably 500 within a 10 block radius. This building is one of only a few in the neighborhood that has an elevator. About 95% of the buildings in the area are walk-ups. Enjoy a beautiful park (Tompkins Square) 2 blocks away the East River waterfront park about 5 streets/blocks to the east.
I'm always happy to recommend the cool, not-in-the-guide-books places for nightlife or dinner or anything else you may seek while in NYC!

We highly recommend Bruce! The apartment is fantastic & clean and Bruce is a very funny, friendly and helpful person. We got a lot of useful tips from him, that made our stay in New York City much better!
The view from the roof top over Manhattan is incredible... You have to see that!
We had a fabulous stay! Great location, great rooftop view, great place, good space in the apartment and with outdoor patio and also a wonderful host.
Couldn’t have asked for more. And even breakfast included, which made a great start on the day! Would definitely recommend!
Our stay in NYC was great. Before arriving at Bruce's place, he shared useful information with us: how to get there by subway, taxi, whatever. The room was big enough for two and had all it needed: hairdryer, towels, clean sheets, tv, you name it... His appartment is located in a great area. Subway is a 15-minute walk and then you can go wherever you want within less than 30 minutes. The non-touristic (but safe) area is very nice: restaurants, bars, park in front of the appartment.... No need to hesitate to make a booking at Bruce's!
bruce is a very nice and helpful host. we felt home !!!
Our stay with Bruce was lovely. He is an amazing host and the area and apartment are both great. Only a short walk to the subway, and the most fantastic view from the roof top terrace. It was my 4th visit to NYC and by far the best, as having someone with local knowledge is priceless. I would highly recommend this property.
A wondeful apartment in a fantastic location - get a feel for the 'real' Manhattan rather than 'hotelville in Touristland'. Bruce was really welcoming and helpful. The apartment was quiet and safe.
This location was just the way it is described here.
In the heart of East Village it is located in a rather quiet area in Manhattan.
All major sightseeing places can be reached within a 20-25 minute walk, subway stations are about 10 minutes away.
The rooms were clean and tidy and our host Bruce is really nice and helpful and can give inside informations around NYC.
One highlight about this appartment is the building's rooftop with a terrific view on the NYC Skyline!
For a fair rate you can spent a good time in Big Apple, we really enjoyed, thank you Bruce!
What a great experience. As a small company who typically uses hotels, we decided to try something alternative. This is our new preferred way to travel. Fun, (very) cost effective and a much more interesting way to explore a city. Bruce is a wonderful host with excellent attention to detail and advice as to the best places to eat and drink in the East Village. His hospitality and geniality is superb.
Clean, cozy apartment in a vibrant area. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Owner is very accommodating. Bit of a walk to the subway. I'd stay there again.
